Mackerel in and fishing good in Donegal Bay

Prospector 1, skippered by Peter Power has returned to the west coast early this season to find the fishing excellent for this time of year.

Plenty of coalfish, pollack and some cod to be had – mostly on feathers (Hyabusa Sabiki or Shamrock Crazy Clowns). Fishing out of Mullaghmore, Co Sligo, Peter and his crew caught these fish at Bo More, Shaddon and east of Inishmurray Island in Donegal Bay. On 10 March they finished with six boxes of fish including some lovely fresh mackerel.
